Blurt is an app where everyone answers the same question every day. This policy explains what data we collect, what we use it for, and who we share it with. If you have questions, write to us at blurt.today@gmail.com.
| Data | What we use it for |
|---|---|
| Email address | Creating your account, letting you know about your access, contacting you |
| Content you post (photo, video, text) | Showing it in the feed, your profile, and the blur wall |
| Age signal (Apple/Google) and declared age | Applying age restrictions and protecting minors |
| Reactions and replies (including anonymous ones) | Showing engagement, moderating content, preventing abuse |
| Push notification token | Sending you the daily question at your local time |
| Usage data (which screens you visit, which buttons you tap) | Understanding how the app is used and improving it |
Blurt is not available to anyone under 13; we block sign-up at that age. For users aged 13 to 17, we apply additional restrictions (no anonymous replies, pre-moderated feed) and internally record the age signal used for that decision, for compliance and safety purposes. We do not use minors' data for targeted advertising.
We do not sell your data. We share it only with providers that help us run Blurt, under contract:
We may disclose information if the law requires it, or to protect a user's safety, especially minors — including reports to NCMEC or other authorities where appropriate.
When you post an anonymous reply, other users do not see your identity. Internally, Blurt does link that reply to your account, so we can moderate content, investigate abuse reports, and meet legal obligations.
We keep your data while your account is active. You can delete your account from the app (Settings → Delete Account) and see your other options in Privacy Choices. You can also request deletion of your data by writing to blurt.today@gmail.com; we may keep certain information when the law requires it (for example, safety moderation records).
We use database-level access controls (Row Level Security in Supabase) and other reasonable measures to protect your information. No system is 100% secure.
Depending on your country, you may have the right to access, correct, or delete your personal data. Write to us at blurt.today@gmail.com to exercise these rights.
We may update this policy. If a change is significant, we will let you know inside the app or by email.
